Why do bad things happen to good people?

I think at times, we go through things to build our faith, to draw us closer to God, to reveal something in ourselves (sifting)…there are so many reason. In public schools, when a child is identified as having “special needs” an individualized education plan is developed in order to meet that child’s need. I think God has each one of us on an individualized education plan.
